Dame Bradbury's pupils explore Picardie, France

Published on 09/11/18

Dame Bradbury's pupils enjoyed exploring and learning about the Château du Broutel in France.

Over half term, a group of 40 Dame Bradbury's pupils from Years 5 and 6 went off to the Château du Broutel in Picardie, France. They explored the market and local town, using their French and finding out about the town’s role in the First and Second World Wars. At the Château, pupils took part in archery, fencing, pétanque and team games as well as sampling snails and frogs’ legs. The children were impressed with the vast cathedral at Amiens, the underground caverns at Naours and they got to learn about and make their own croissants! The children loved the trip saying

“We had such a great time and learned a lot”.

The director of the Château also expressed his enjoyment, saying:

“It has been a pleasure to have you as our guests: the behaviour of your students has been exemplary - they have been a credit to you and your school”.

All the pupils and staff involved thoroughly enjoyed the trip, and came home inspired by all things French!
