Exploring Victorian values

Published on 10/10/17

Taking learning outside the classroom, to explore 'real-life' experience is part of our approach to learning. Year 6 recently enjoyed a fun, Victorian Values Experience at Audley End House, which gave them a unique and engaging insight into Victorian life.

Pupils were suitably dressed for their Victorian experience and were required to polish cutlery, fold bed linen and address Mrs Warbrick the housekeeper in an appropriate way.

We also enjoyed plenty of opportunities to explore the great house. The children gained great insight into how the rich lived and many were wowed by the beauty of the house.

The nursery proved to be very popular, as the children could experience some forms of entertainment that provided a stark contrast to what they are used to. A great time was had by all.
