Year 1 and 2 visit the Sedgwick Museum

Dame Bradbury's Year 1 & 2 take a fascinating visit to the Sedgwick Museum

On Tuesday 27 and Wednesday 28 February, Years 1 and 2 enjoyed a fascinating trip to the Sedgwick Museum in Cambridge to link in with our current topic, 'Land Before Time'. The children enjoyed being history detectives and had fun exploring the museum's vast collection of fossils and rocks.

With a museum teacher, the children examined a life-size iguanodon skeleton and T-Rex skull and discovered what we can learn about dinosaurs from their remains. We were amazed to discover that the T-Rex's brain was the same size as one of its teeth! We saw an ichthyosaur found by the famous fossil hunter, Mary Anning, who we have been learning about as part of our topic.
