Early Years visit the Fitzwilliam Museum as part of their 'Once Upon a Time' topic

On Wednesday 20th June Early Years travelled to the Fitzwilliam Museum to look at armour that knights used to wear and find to out what would they need to do to become real knights. As a part of our ‘Once Upon a Time’ topic, Early Years have been faced with a set of challenges to find lost treasure that was taken from them by one of the fairy tales characters called Christine.

The children spent this term working their way through different challenges and unlocking new levels on the game set up by Christine only to find that the treasure was guarded by a dragon! Their ‘Fitzwilliam Museum Challenge’ was to explore different parts of the museum and to find artefacts that belonged to real knights that would help them face the dragon.

At the end of their trip the children discovered a letter from Christine congratulating them on their challenge and inviting them to the next level of the game that took place in Mountfitchet Castle and Anglesey Abby.
