Year 3's Botanic Adventure

Published on 26/09/19

Recently, Year 3 visited the Cambridge Botanical Gardens to kick start their learning on 'Tropical treasures'.

Where better to experience  the humidity and see the rainforest plants? The foliage varied from fabulous water lilies and vanilla orchids to pitcher plants and venus flytraps. They saw how rainforest plants compete for light and nutrients to survive in an extreme climate.

Back at school they have been enjoying using this new knowledge as a springboard for Thematic Learning activities in the humanities, creative, science and english.
