Year 5 talk to local police officers

Published on 11/12/19

Year 5 brought their theme - Crime and Punishment through the ages - to a brilliant close this week, with a visit from our local police officers.

The children learnt about the main role of the police (to catch criminals, investigate crimes and help people). They showed us all the equipment they use, including a video camera, CS spray, walkie - talkies, limb restraints, handcuffs, body armour, notebook, baton, phone and torch. The children had lots of interesting questions and learnt a lot. They even got to try on some uniform and looked quite the part! Henry said, ‘I want to be a police dog handler’ and Sam added, ‘I’d like to be a police officer.’
