Collaboration is key at the Explore Learning National Young Mathematicians’ Awards

Published on 16/01/20

On 15 January four Year 6 pupils from Dame Bradbury's took part in the Explore Learning National Young Mathematicians’ Awards.

Each team of four from different schools had an hour to complete two tasks. The team decide amongst themselves how long to spend on each task and are able to be advised after half an hour. The team collaborated brilliantly, using a ruler and whiteboard to help them solve the tasks. Staying calm, it was great to see the boys discussing clearly between themselves and asking questions to staff to clarify their objectives.

Having finished the boys look exhausted, relieved, confident and proud with themselves. The final of the awards will take place at The Natural History Museum.
