Commencing from the start of the new academic year, the Stephen Perse Sixth Form will be located on Bateman Street in well-appointed and historic buildings that exemplify the best of this dynamic and inventive city, combining legacy and facilities to support student development.
The new site, at one time home to Cheshunt College (the oldest theological college in Cambridge), is modern and very well-equipped; six science laboratories, sixteen classrooms, indoor and outdoor dining areas, a large student Common Room, a large Library and student study space, as well as facilities for the school's guidance team, sixth form counsellor, departmental resource areas, and much more. There is also secure bicycle parking on site for students.
Students and staff will benefit from being on the doorstep of the Senior School site, a short walk or cycle away on quiet side streets and footpaths to allow collaboration and joint activities when required, while also giving the Sixth Form community a bespoke and separate space for individual learning and space for A Level and IB programme study.
Spencer Pinkus, Head of Sixth Form said: “Our new home is an ideal place for our sixth form community. Its beautiful architecture, modern facilities and central Cambridge location make it an excellent space for our students to learn and develop.”
