I love rugby.

I love rugby. I like rugby because:

  1. It is enjoyable and physical and I’m physical.

  2. It is fun because you can be very creative in play and almost anything you want to try out is possible if you put your mind to it.

  3. It challenges me to be fit and keep healthy so I can be better at my game.

  4. I am rugby captain at school so I have to make good decisions and be good under pressure.

I have been playing rugby for roughly 8 years since I was 3 years old!

This is the journey between clubs in my life: Rugger bugs (a club in Saffron Walden that is for 3 to 5 year olds), Wendens Ambo RFC (I played a year up in U6’s and U7’s), Saffron Walden RFC (I joined when I was 10 and am currently at that club). One of my favourite parts of rugby is passing. The way I pass is by spinning the ball with the top hand and flicking my wrist. I am right handed so find it easier to pass to my left and find it hard to pass to my right. I love tackling people and smashing them to the ground. It is so satisfying watching someone hit the ground and knock the ball on. It means you have done a great tackle.

I have mixed heritage which affects my (spectating) rugby a bit. I am half springbok (South African) and half English. My mum is a springbok so I support them and my dad is English so I support England there.

That is why I love rugby.
