Fitzwilliam Building and Dame Bradbury's Year 2 Trip to Aerozone Stansted

Published on 28/06/22

What a wonderful start to a new thematic topic in Year 2. We launched our topic of Trains, Planes and Automobiles, by taking our learning to the Aerozone at Stansted Airport.

The children were introduced to the history of the airport and were quite excited to hear about how much it has developed over the years.

The children flowed through a variety of stations and activities from dressing up in various aviation costumes to getting their hands into some interesting physics experiments in the educational learning hub.

The highlight for most of the pupils was tracking the live arrivals and departures at Stansted and walking to the viewing platform to wave the planes as they took off and welcoming those that landed! We even had a Ryanair Plane acknowledge the classes from the viewing platform, with a special wave back from the cockpit window!
