Junior School Fitzwilliam Building Summer Concert

Published on 01/07/22

The Junior School, Fitzwilliam Building filled the West Road Concert Hall with music on the evening of Thursday 23rd June.

Pupils from Year 3 - 6 all took part in the summer concert. Preparations had been underway for some time during the pupils music lessons and clubs, culminating in an unforgettable night.

Each year group had their turn on stage performing a number of songs, whilst being accompanied by instruments. In the case of Year 3, their very own hand made instruments too. Not to be outdone, Mr McDowell had created his own piece of 'junk' to accompany Year 3’s version of Happy by Pharrell Williams.

A range of genres were covered during the evening with an acapella performances from our Senior Choir, Jazz Club playing Herbie Hancock and our brass and wind ensemble leading a stirring Rule Britannia.

It was a wonderful nod towards 'normality' and an event that sends us towards our summer break with a huge sense of pride.
