Stephen Perse student Shriyan has been awarded ‘Highly Commended’ in the Rotary Club Photograph Competition 2022/23.
Shriyan said: ‘Each year the Rotary Club of Cambridge organises the Rotary Young Photographer Competition. The topic of the photography competition this year was ‘The beauty of architecture’ which inspired me to look for buildings that were old, but at the same time beautiful, so I looked around where I lived. Then I remembered that Ely Cathedral was a well known place that was very old and beautiful, and when I went there it was covered in a light layer of frost, which gave it a slight shine. The snow-covered tree also gave it a winter’s effect which I thought would be good for the photo. When I heard that I got highly commended, I was ecstatic! My hard work was rewarded!’
