Year 10 geography pupils explore the environmental quality of the local area

Published on 18/06/21

Our Year 10 geographers recently used the nearby CB1 redevelopment to investigate whether regeneration had improved the environmental quality of the area.

To find this out, students walked around the redevelopment, conducting environmental quality surveys at a number of different sites, such as the train station and nearby shops and residential areas, by taking note of their surroundings including vegetation, traffic and building and road repair to build a picture of the area. Once back in the classroom, the next task will be to map and graph the data, before using statistics to help form their final decision.
