  • U9 Rugby v Widford Lodge

    Published 25/11/16
A slow start by both the A and B teams meant the hosts opened up a comfortable lead in the first half. Widford showed Dame B's how to run directly and stay organised in defence. After a gentle reminder at half time that tackling is not an option, and there is a need to stay in an organised defensive line both teams put in a much improved second half performance. A closely contested game with some excellent rugby from both sides saw Dame B's win by the narrowest of margins. Dame B's played with pace and produced an excellent display of good handling and direct running to score some good tries. The visitors battled hard throughout and also scored some excellent tries thanks to the pace in their attacking play. It was great to see the Year 6 boys working with the Year 5 players to show them that passing and supporting is a good option within a game situation. This allowed for some lovely fluent rugby to be played. Well played boys.
