Years 1 and 2 have enjoyed an interesting trip to Saffron Walden Museum. Along the way we followed our map and added features and road names as we went.

Our aim is not just to teach children to how read but to become confident and independent readers and writers!

Across all our schools, developing a sense of social responsibility is integral to learning, and it is one of eight key skills that form the outer circle of our curriculum wheel. Thinking of others and supporting charity are part of this and this term began with six Foundation staff raising money for  Alzheimer's  Research UK. 

Global outlook is an extremely important aspect of a Stephen Perse education and an initiative, such as our collaboration with GG (Goel Ganga) International School, makes it possible for young learners to appreciate the importance of being globally connected and of the ways in which this can be achieved.

While some lessons are reasonably predictable, we like to include surprises as part of our approach to learning in Junior School. This term began with an invasion of the 'Roman kind' for our Year 4 pupils, to discover more about the Roman invasion of Britain. 

Year 3 visited the Cambridge Botanic Garden to kick start our learning on ‘Tropical Treasures.’ Where better to experience humidity and see the rainforest plants for ourselves?

Seeking every opportunity to put skills into practise and to broaden horizons is key to our approach at the Stephen Perse Foundation. A recent Year 12 French language trip to Lille provided a day full of new, cultural experiences.
