We were delighted to have welcomed alumna, Anne Atkins to speak at this Inspire Me event. 

Anne Atkins – Alumna, Anne Atkins is the author of three novels, namely: The Lost ChildOn Our Own; and A Fine and Private Place. She is also a journalist - Anne was the Daily Telegraph’s first agony aunt between 1996 and 2000, and now writes for a number of different newspapers. Furthermore, Anne often speaks on Radio 4’s Thought for the Day and regularly comments on Question TimeAny Questions, and the Today programme.  

Anne spoke of her career and had some great stories of her path, the different opportunities she took advantage of, and the importance of being flexible if you want to work for yourself in the world of journalism. The audience had a great insight into the working of Radio 4's Today programme, and how Thought for the Day fits into it, and is produced. Anne spoke about the changing world of writing, publishing and journalism, and the importance of blogging.
