Are you linked to the Perse School?

No, but we have shared history. Whilst we are two entirely separate and independent institutions, we at Stephen Perse Cambridge were the original Perse Girls school founded in 1881, and The Perse School was the original boys' school. Both schools are now co-ed.

What type of independent school are you?

We are not a traditional, rigid private school. Our schools are vibrant, supportive and exciting learning environments. We are critical thinkers who embrace new ideas, and develop our students to be responsible global citizens. We have a strong sense of community where respect and kindness are instilled in our students, and we are drivers of social mobility through our innovative bursary programme

What curriculum do you offer?

Please visit Our Schools section of this website for more information.

We do not offer the International Baccalaureate (IB).

Can I arrange a visit?

Absolutely, we strongly encourage this! The best way to see us in action is to visit our open days or coffee mornings, or alternatively, you can arrange a tour of our schools. Details of open days and booking a tour can be found here

What are my travel to school options?

We offer a variety of convenient options for school travel, details of which can be found here.

What is your approach to technology?

We are innovators, and are always looking at ways technology can benefit our students. We were early adopters of 1:1 iPad provision and remote meeting technology which The Times recognised when naming us East Anglia's Independent School of the Decade as we seamlessly transitioned temporarily to remote learning during the COVID pandemic. We have embraced AI as a tool to assist teaching and learning, however as with all technologies, we teach our students how to use it responsibly and only when it is the most appropriate tool. As teachers, we carefully assess the most effective teaching method, be it using technology or more traditional methods such as pen and paper.

We have rigorous safeguarding controls, and parents have the option to fully control their child's iPad from their phones outside of school.
